Service Orders

Service orders are the core of field work in BOA. They represent jobs, tasks, or work requests assigned to your team.

Viewing Service Orders

  1. Tap the Service Orders tab to see all orders assigned to you
  2. Orders are sorted by priority and due date
  3. Each order shows the customer name, address, status, and summary

Service Order Statuses

  • New — Just created, not yet started
  • In Progress — Work has begun
  • On Hold — Waiting on parts, customer, or approval
  • Completed — Work finished, ready for review
  • Closed — Fully completed and invoiced

Working on a Service Order

  1. Tap an order to open the detail view
  2. Tap Start Work to change the status to In Progress
  3. As you work, you can:
  4. Add notes describing what was done
  5. Attach photos of the work site or completed work
  6. Log materials or parts used
  7. Update the status as work progresses
  8. When finished, tap Complete to mark the order done

Adding Photos

  1. Open a service order
  2. Tap the camera icon or Add Photo button
  3. Take a new photo or choose from your gallery
  4. Photos are attached to the order and synced to the server

Searching and Filtering

  • Use the search bar at the top to find orders by customer name, order number, or description
  • Filter by status to see only active, completed, or on-hold orders

Tips

  • Update status promptly so managers and dispatchers have accurate information
  • Add photos before and after work for documentation
  • Log all materials used so invoicing is accurate
  • Service orders sync automatically — check Settings if you need to force a sync
