Troubleshooting

Having issues with BOA Field? Here are solutions to common problems.

Connection Issues

"Cannot connect to server"

  • Verify you have an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data)
  • Check that the server URL in Settings is correct
  • The BOA server may be temporarily unavailable — try again in a few minutes
  • If the problem persists, contact your administrator to verify the server is running

Data not syncing

  • Open Settings and tap Sync Now to force a manual sync
  • Check that "Auto Sync" is enabled in Settings
  • If on Wi-Fi Only mode, make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi
  • Large data sets may take a moment to sync — wait for the sync to complete

Login Problems

"Invalid credentials"

  • Double-check your username and password
  • Passwords are case-sensitive
  • If you've forgotten your password, contact your administrator to reset it

Stuck on login screen

  • Force-close the app and reopen it
  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify the server URL is correct in the app settings

App Performance

App running slowly

  • Go to Settings > Clear Cache to free up space
  • Close other apps running in the background
  • Make sure your phone has sufficient storage space
  • Restart the app

App crashes

  • Update to the latest version of BOA Field
  • Restart your phone
  • If crashes continue, go to Settings > Report a Problem to send us the details

Time Clock Issues

Can't clock in/out

  • Ensure you have an internet connection
  • Check if you're already clocked in (you can't clock in twice)
  • Force sync and try again

Wrong times showing

  • Verify your phone's date, time, and timezone are set correctly
  • Enable "Automatic date & time" in your phone's settings

Photos Not Uploading

  • Check your internet connection
  • Make sure BOA Field has permission to access your camera and photos
  • Photos upload in the background — they may take a few minutes on slower connections
  • If photos are stuck, try forcing a sync in Settings
